The Jaguar XFR is set to be unveiled at the Detroit motor show next January.

Speculation over the range-topping XF has been rife in recent months, but after a lightly disguised example was taken up the hill at July’s Goodwood Festival of Speed it comes as no surprise that the real XFR it will feature at a major show soon.

Jaguar officials declined to confirm if the XFR will make it to Detroit or when the super-saloon will be revealed, but our sources insist that the US show is the chosen launch venue and the production model is expected around March 2009.

Prices for the XFR are still yet to be confirmed but buyers will expect to pay at least £60,000 for the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 monster, which has 500bhp on tap.
