BMW has released further details of its new ‘Competition Pack’ for the M6, and confirmed details for the range-topping X6 xDrive 50i.

News of the new harder and lower ‘Competition Pack’ on the M6 has already been released, but we can now reveal the super-coupe will receive a modified variable M differential to improve its cornering abilities.

The pack will also alter the M6’s looks, with revised bonnet lines and new double-spoke light-alloy wheels. The upgrades will cost £2180, raising the price of a new M6 coupe to nearly £87,000.

Autocar recently revealed BMW’s plans for an M-Power X6, but for now the UK will get a twin-turbocharged 4.4 litre V8 producing 408bhp in the xDrive 50i. Capable of 0-62mph in 5.4sec, the X6 i50 will go on sale in November at £53,930.
