The wraps have just come off the IFR Aspid, a new two-seat sports car that’s been designed and engineered in the UK and costs an ambitious-sounding £75,000.
Manufacturer IFR Automotive reckons the supercharged Aspid will hit 62mph in 2.8sec and 100mph in 5.9sec, Bugatti Veyron levels of performance. The Aspid weighs just 700kg, but build quality appears to be a cut above the traditional low-volume British sports cars.
IFR has told Autocar that we’ll get to drive the Aspid towards the end of the year and that it will go on sale in 2009. We’ll reserve judgement until then - but it looks promising.
