This is the new Lotus Clark Type 25 Elise SC, a special-edition Elise produced to commemorate the anniversary of the legendary Formula One driver’s death at Hockenheim in 1963.
Named Type-25 after the Type-25 Lotus F1 car that Clark raced in 1963, as well as his 25 F1 wins, the supercharged Elise-based model retains the standard car’s performance but gets styling cues from the classic Formula One race car.
These include the British Racing Green paintwork, complete with yellow stripe, plus black-and-silver alloy wheels. The cabin gets red-trimmed leather seats and our favourite retro touch, a wooden gear knob. A removable hard-top is also standard.
Only 25 examples of the Jim Clark Elise will be made, with prices starting at £35,995. The car itself will make its public debut at the Scottish Classic Speed Fair at Knockhill on 8 June.
