Hundreds of motorcyclists have held a protest on the M62 against the high fuel prices.

More than 500 riders were involved. They were joined by taxi and lorry drivers for the protest, which began at 8.00am this morning from Junction 18 of the M62 and made its way into Salford Quays.

The protest was said to be organised by two bikers who are known only as ‘Maverick’ and ‘Triumph man’. It caused queues back to the M60 and gathered crowds of supporters who applauded the convoy as it passed.
