SAIC-owned Brilliance unwrapped this new mid-sized estate version of its well established Brilliance B6 saloon.

Styled by Pininfarina, whose influence could be seen among many Chinese car makers in Beijing this year, the 4700mm-long five-door is aimed at helping Brilliance further infiltrate the selected left-hand-drive European markets in which it is now represented.

Among the engines touted for the Brilliance B6 estate is a new turbocharged, 1.8-litre, four-cylinder engine delivering 168bhp and boasting Euro IV emissions compatibility.

Also turning heads in Beijing was the new Brilliance F3 FRV. China’s answer to the Volkswagen Golf GTi gets beefed up styling with a deep front bumper, flared wheel arches, a rear hatch spoiler and new rear bumper complete with mock diffuser, twin chromed tailpipes and the same turbocharged, 1.8-litre engine as in the new B6 estate.
