The new Lexus IS-F is the first saloon to be produced by Toyota’s premium brand and we wanted to find out how it stands up to its established rivals.
So we took the new V8-powered IS to a runway and laid on a warm reception, in the shape of the Mercedes C63 AMG and the BMW M3 saloon – plus a Vauxhall VXR8 to keep them all honest.
Then we set a series of challenges to find which one was best able to combine pace and practicality – with senior road tester Jamie Corstorphine putting the four through their paces.
