From 2008, Ferrari will be the first manufacturer to offer Brembo carbon ceramic brakes as standard across its whole range.
Previously an option on all Ferrari models except the Enzo, which was the first production car fitted with carbon ceramic brakes, the benefits include improved performance, durability and response.
You also get improved response time and a weight saving of around 15kg from the car's total weight.
Not surprisingly, anybody buying a Prancing Horse wanted it to stop well, and popular demand resulted in the technology being made standard.
The announcement was made today at Bologna motor show, where the new Ferrari 430 Scuderia was also displayed.
