Arsenal might be top of the Football League Premiership at the moment, and West Ham might be 11th, but it's the Hammers that are top when it comes to numberplates.
At a DVLA auction of personalised registrations last week in Essex, the registration plate WE57 HAM sold for £57,000. That's a whopping £21,000 more than AR53 NAL sold for in 2003.
The West Ham numberplate was purchased by an anonymous bidder who bid online. Of course, they will become much less anonymous the second they attach the plate to their car.
