Autocar Archive: Tokyo 2005

26 October 2007

Tokyo motor show 2005 had much in common with this week's Japanese motor show.

The Suzuki Life Creator, Toyota i-Swing and Daihatsu UFE-III upheld the Tokyo motor show's reputation for bizarre creations, demonstrating a cabin that brings passengers closer together, a personal mobility device to express individuality and a three-wheeled car with only one door.

But there was also plenty of significant new metal revealed, much of which is just reaching the market now. Mazda's CX-7 made its first appearance, the Mitsubishi Evo X concept was revealed, as was the Nissan GT-R prototype.

Lexus also made an appearance with the LS concept, and Subaru showed us the first glimpse of where the new Impreza design was going.
