Renault will have affordable electric cars in production within four years, according to company boss Carlos Ghosn.

In an interview with Autocar editor Chas Hallett and editor-in-chief Steve Cropley, Renault CEO Ghosn admitted that the company is already testing battery cars with large fleet operators and admitted that they are likely to be the first customers for its fully electric models. "Until we have urban driving with zero emissions nothing (climate change) wil be solved," he said.

According to Ghosn, however, Renault is already one of the most efficient car-makers for CO2 emissions and "we don't want to lose that," he stated.
