What’s the best car advert you’ve seen on TV in the past year? Skoda’s Fabialess cake car? Ford’s floating Mondeos? What about Nissan’s skateboarding Qashqai? Well, now’s your chance to tell us, and to give the individuals responsible the credit they deserve; it’s time to vote for Autocar’s Car Advert of the Year Award 2007.
Autocar’s annual awards, held in association with Trafficmaster, are fast approaching, and our car ad of the year gong has become a highlight of them in recent years. Previous winners include Kia (for its original campaign on the Picanto), Citroen (for its dancing C4 robot) and Honda (for it’s Impossible Dream campaign).
This year, we’ve whittled down a shortlist of 28 runners to an even shorter list of just 12 for you to cast your eye over. Amongst them are the most imaginative, entertaining and effective car ads of the year – Audi’s clever ‘rhythm of lines’ advert for the A5 coupe; BMW’s beautiful ‘see how it feels’ advert; Toyota’s entertaining ‘treat it with respect’ campaign for the Yaris; and the epic, two-minute tribute to motorsport produced by Ferrari and Shell.
Courtesy of our friends over at TellyAds.com, you can remind yourself of the adverts in question by clicking the links below. Then, when you’ve watched them all, go to our online questionnaire and register your vote. Voting will close on October 19, and the winning advert will be announced on November 13.
