The replacement for Honda's most successful small car, the Jazz, will make its first show appearance at Tokyo on 24 October.

Named the Fit in Japan, the Jazz can still claim to be one of the best-packaged small cars on the market, offering more space than most thanks to the mini-MPV style body.

That is why over 134,500 units have been sold in UK since 2002, and yet residuals are some of the best in class. A well-maintained Jazz will retain 40 per cent of its original value after three years.

So it's understandable that Honda hasn't departed from the original car too much; the styling and basic layout are still quite similar though the whole car feels more upmarket.

The Jazz may not be appearing officially until later this month, and doesn't go on sale in the UK for another year, but we've already published an exclusive first drive.
