When this nice-looking Kia Cee’d three-door hits the market at the end of the year, owners of Audi A3s will be doing double-takes. The car has the same presence, balance and European appeal of the Ingolstadt car, courtesy of its slightly lower and sharper shape, a sportier grille and a more purposeful nose-down stance han the Cee’d five-door, now several months old in the market. Engine range will be familiar: 1.4 litre and 1.6 litre petrol; 1.6 litre and 2.0 litre turbo diesel.
A miro-hybrid version of the same car was shown at Frankfurt, and though the company was officially saying nothing about a debut date for this technology in all Cee’d (and probably Hyundai) shapes, strong rumours exist that it’ll be introduced with mid-life changes for the car by 2010.
