Autocar’s Steve Cropley visited Aston’s headquarters in the Midlands last week, and brought back word from Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez, Aston product development director Ian Minards, and Aston design director Marek Reichmann. All of them were swollen with pride about their new mould-breaking supercar, the ‘tough-guy-in-a-dinner-suit’ DBS, and you can watch them singing its praised by clicking here.
“The DBS isn’t a car that’s about everyday driving,” Bez told us. “In most daily traffic situations, you could get where you’re going just as quickly in a ‘50s sports car.”
“The DBS is about exploring what’s possible today with an Aston Martin; it provides an answer to the question ‘if money is no object, what can we provide’. And it’s in a totally different league, even from the rest of the cars we make; it’s a true supercar.”
