Want to make your new X5 look even less suitable for off-roading? Now you can do it the official BMW way, with the release of the new X5 4.8i M Sport.

The new range-topping soft-roader comes with 19-inch alloy wheels (20s are optional), sports suspension, extra bodykit, sports seats, a matt aluminium surround on the side window frames, high-gloss roof rails, anthracite headlining and an M leather steering wheel.

Leather is standard, along with walnut trim, though aluminium, bamboo or poplar are no-cost options. The M Sport comes in six colours: white, two types of black, blue, grey or silver.

The 4.8i M Sport is on sale now for £53,440, but don’t expect to get one before 2008 – BMW says that the X5 is sold out until the end of 2007.
