Hyundai i30 gets bigger

08 May 2007

Hyundai's new Focus-rivalling i30 hatch isn't even on sale yet, and we've already got our first look at its estate sibling.

These are the first official pictures of the i30 estate, which like the i30 hatch is a sister-car to the Kia Cee'd.

The i30 Estate is 230mm longer and 50mm taller than the hatch, and rides on a 90mm longer wheelbase. It will be available with a choice of either petrol or turbocharged diesel 1.6-litre four-cylinder engines.

Like the hatch, the i30 estate was designed at Hyundai's European design centre in Frankfurt. It will be built at the firm's new Czech factory.
