Autocar is offering one lucky reader the chance to become a road tester for a couple of days, and attend one of the most important new car press launches of the year. The new Ford Mondeo will be launched to the UK press on April 30, at a specially hosted event on the island of Sardinia, and we've negotiated a place for an Autocar reader on it.

Enter our competition and you could fly with Autocar editor Chas Hallett from Stansted Airport to Sardinia. There, you'll drive the new Mondeo alongside some of the most seasoned road testers in the business, be accommodated by Ford in a plush hotel on the island, share your dinner table with Ford's project engineers, take your own notes in the press conference; you'll experience everything that an Autocar road tester does in the line of duty.

So if you're free on Monday 30 April and Tuesday 1 May, and you fancy attending, you need only answer this question:

When was the original Ford Mondeo launched?

Entrants must be UK residents aged 21 or over, with a full passport and driving licence. The competition closes at midnight on Wednesday 25 April.
