Kia's future is green - bright green

05 April 2007

Kia’s continuing the lead of its crisply styled Cee’d with this concept SUV, called the KND-4 and to be revealed at the Seoul motor show this week.

Look beyond the garish lime green paint, and there’s a real clue as to how future Kia SUVs will look.

The Korean brand sees itself as a leader in SUVs – in the UK it currently sells the good value Sportage and Sorento.

Although this 2.2-litre turbodiesel-powered concept does have four-wheel drive, decent ground clearance and short overhangs, it is still more of a soft-roader than a proper mud-plugger.

The interior, with individual seats for four, is jammed with new technologies such as a Blu-Ray DVD player, a new super-thin ‘organic’ LED display that can be seen from a wide range of angles, and a hard-disk-based audio system.

The Seoul motor show runs from 7 to 15 April.
