Great news for muscle-car fans – Chrysler has announced that the production version of the Dodge Challenger will be unveiled at the Chicago motor show in February.

First revealed at the Detroit motor show in 2006, the bulging Challenger is part of a retro revival of American muscle cars including the Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro.

But this time round, the Challenger will actually be a Canadian muscle car – it's going to be built at Chrysler's plant in Brampton, Ontario, where the 300C and Dodge Charger are also made.

That's good news for the beleaguered Chrysler workforce – on 14 February, 13,000 job cuts were announced across Chrysler's North American operations.
