We love the Nissan 350Z, so we're eagerly anticipating the arrival of the revised car at March's Geneva motor show.

Though the car is broadly the same, it'll have a new engine. Out goes the old 3.5-litre V6, and in comes a new 3.5-litre V6. The new VQ engine offers more power (up from 296bhp to 309bhp), more torque (up 4lb ft to 264lb ft) and a higher red line at 7500rpm (up 500rpm). We just hope it sounds as great as the old engine.

Nissan also promises slightly improved acceleration from the new engine, though no increase in fuel economy or decrease in CO2 emissions. Apparently Japanese tuners aren't so keen on it, however, as it is harder to modify than the old engine.

To accommodate the new engine, the front of the 350Z has been slightly redesigned, with a muscular bulge in the centre of the bonnet. Inside, there's a new grey trim colour, and the fitment of active head restraints. The car also gets new Bridgestone Potenza tyres, which Nissan says reduce tyre noise. It goes on sale in the UK in May.

Nissan will also be unveiling an entirely new car at the Geneva motor show – almost certainly the next X-Trail 4x4.
