Land Rover is on standby to offer the services of up to 100 vehicles and their off-road experts, following the extreme weather conditions in the Midlands, Wales and south-east England.

All 10 Land Rover Experience centres across the UK will be on hand to help local emergency services - including highway patrols, fire services and local police forces.

Police in south Wales have already abandoned regular patrol vehicles for 4x4s. Land Rover will also help to recover vehicles broken down in the bad weather and those involved in accidents.

Around 10cm of snow fell overnight in Wales and the Midlands, while south-east England has received at least 5cm. The Highways Agency has advised people not to travel unless absolutely necessary.
