Renault has been at work on the Scenic and Grand Scenic - but you'd be hard pushed to notice from the outside.
The biggest changes are under the bonnet, where the Scenic now gets the same 2.0-litre 148bhp diesel fitted to the Megane. It also gets a diesel automatic - the Renault-Nissan six-speed unit is paired with a 1.9-litre 130bhp oil-burner. Elsewhere in the range, the 1.6-litre petrol version gets a six-speed manual 'box.
The Grand Scenic is now available with five seats, a move that finally means it has some boot space to speak of.
The range also gets upgraded equipment - the CD player is now MP3 compatible, the front passenger seat is height-adjustable and the wipers and headlights are now automatic.
Only mild tweakage, then, but quite timely - both models face strong competition from rivals like the Zafira and C-Max, but the blend of extra features and new engines should give the Scenics a fighting chance.
