TVR is to reinstate workers who were temporarily laid off in April.

The Blackpool-based sports car maker, which last month announced it was moving to new premises, had initially laid off up to 150 workers after slow sales through the winter.

Since TVR announced its relocation plans last month, the company claims to have experienced an upsurge in confidence in the TVR brand, with dealers also reporting an increase in both enquiries and sales.

The reinstated workers will help TVR to meet renewed demand.

Update:

TVR has appointed engineering firm Ricardo to develop its powertrains.

The first joint project will be to make the Speed Six engine Euro V compliant. Attaning this - which will take 18 months - is a sign that TVR will expand into more markets around the world.

TVR owner Nikolai Smolenski says, 'Our alliance with Ricardo allows us to advance our technical capabilities to achieve our aims at an accelerated rate.'
