A morbid but intriguing slice of history will be made on March 25th at the Longbridge sale of cars from MG Sport and Racing, the motorsport arm of MG Rover.
Though the administrators are still in talks for a sale of the whole MG Sport and Racing business, it looks high likely that the sale will go ahead.
Up for bidding will be the ex-Gwyndaf Evans rally car (estimate: £32,000-£38,000), the 765bhp ZT-T that raced at Bonneville (£20,000), an MGTF 500 – a Cosworth-engined track car – and another one-off, a ZT V8 with 480bhp.
The sadness and excitement continues: a ZT V8 concept for the German DTM series and two XPower SV-R coupes, plus concepts from motor shows, memorabilia, engine, suspension and bodywork components and a line of MG ZR racers, many of which have estimates of less than £10,000. And if MG and XPower branded T-shirts and mugs are your thing, look no further.
