Peugeot has added kit to its 407 saloons and estates and added a ‘Sport’ model. It has also fitted the 2.7-litre HDi V6 from the Coupé.

That engine kicks out 205bhp and 330lb ft of torque from 1900rpm. In the Coupé, that was enough for 60mph in 8.1 seconds and 30-70mph in 7.5 seconds in our Road Test.

That engine will only be available in the top of the range Executive model, but the SE gains automatic wipers and headlamps and tyre pressure sensors. Going for the ‘Sport’ will get you half-leather seats, a 6 CD changer and Bluetooth kit.

All 407s will now feature 18-inch wheels. All the above is available on both saloon and SW (estate) versions. Also available for the first time is a six-speed automatic mated to the 136bhp HDi engine.

All cars registered before March 31st get Smartnav as standard.
