Autocar brings you an advance ride story in the car Aston Martin is aiming at the most popular sports car on the planet this week - the V8 Vantage. Having sampled the car in the 50 degree heat of the Arabian desert, and at speeds of up to 160mph, Autocar senior contributing writer Andrew Frankel writes that the new £70,000 Aston has 'a raw streak you'll find in neither DB9 nor Vanquish S'.
'In the sound of its engine and the stiffness of its springs, it is ever so slightly in your face,' he goes on. 'It seems to be saying: 'you're too young for golf clubs, cigars, Radio 3 or a DB9. That time may come but, for now, let's get out there and have some fun.' As manifestos go,' Frankel concludes, 'I find that hard to challenge.'
