Alfa Romeo is bringing the iconic Cloverleaf back to the UK.
Also know as the Quadrifoglio Verde, the Cloverleaf began as a symbol of good luck on Alfa’s most successful racing cars, before making an appearance many of it's more powerful road cars.
Last seen in the UK on the 146 QV, the emblem is making a comback on the stylish Alfa GT, with a 147 Cloverleaf also being considered.
Both models will be powered by a 1.9-litre JTDM 170bhp turbodiesel engine and coupled to Alfa’s Q2 limited slip differential.
The suspension has been lowered and the manufacturer has fitted a sport button to alternate touring and sport set-ups for the throttle.
The Quadrifoglio Verde editions also feature numerous cosmetic changes, including chrome exhaust tips, red brake calipers, satin-finish grilles, wing mirrors, a darkened roof section, aluminium-covered pedals and aluminium-effect gear lever and kick plates.
The GT Cloverleaf is likely to go on sale in the UK towards the end of 2008. However, no decision has been made on whether the 147 Cloverleaf (confirmed for the Italian market) will make it over here.
