1) Aston Dragon 88 specials

Aston Martin took the wraps off three ‘Year of the Dragon’ special edition models in Beijing. Available on DBS Volante, Virage Coupe and V8 Vantage S Coupe models, the Dragon 88 Limited Edition-spec cars (of which there are 88 in total) are finished in one of three colours and feature 24-carat gold wing badges.

2) Audi A6 e-tron

Audi says the A6 L e-tron is a parallel hybrid which mates a 2.0-litre TFSI petrol engine, developing 208bhp with an electric motor with peak power rated at 95bhp.

3) Audi Q3 RS

The Audi Q3 RS shows Audi "exploring the potential" of a high-performance SUV. The RS Q3 concept uses a highly tuned version of the 2.5-litre five-cylinder found in the Audi RS3 and TT-RS.

4) BAIC C90L concept

BAIC’s stand was dominated by this huge (5.2m-long) C90L concept, which is powered by a 6.0-litre V12 engine.

5) Bentley Mulsanne Jubilee

Bentley will make 60 unique special edition versions of the Mulsanne to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. Each car represents a year of her reign. A special red, white and blue theme runs throughout each models – the colours of the Union Flag – to highlight the car’s ‘Britishness’.

6) Bentley EXP 9F SUV

Bentley revealed at the Beijing show that it is considering petrol and hybrid powertrains for the forthcoming EXP 9F SUV

7) BMW 3-series LWB

The new 3-series variant - available for the Chinese market only – has its wheelbase extended by 110mm compared with the standard car. It’s available in the BMW 335Li, the BMW 328Li, or the BMW 320Li guises and will be built in China’s new Shenyang production plant.

8) Chery TX SUV concept

The stylish Chery TX SUV concept previews a replacement for the Tiggo SUV in Chery’s line-up and is perhaps the most credible car yet seen from a Chinese domestic manufacturer.

9) Chrysler and Jeep specials

Chrysler marked its return to the Chinese market with a Chrysler 300 Ruyi design concept, which “blends modern American design and technology with tradition-rich Chinese symbols”. Like the Chrysler, the Jeep Wrangler Dragon Design Concept gets dragon imagery inside and out.

10) Citroën Numero 9

The Numero 9 previews the styling direction that the next three DS models – a VW Jetta sized premium saloon, an SUV and a BMW 5-series sized executive saloon flagship - will take.

11) Daimler/BYD Denza

Daimler and Chinese car maker BYD (Build Your Dreams) revealed the Denza concept at the Beijing motor show. The venture aims to combine BYD’s battery technology with the manufacturing, technological and design clout of Mercedes-Benz.

12) £252k Eterniti Artemis

British tuning company Eterniti has revealed its 180mph Eterniti Artemis (formerly known as the Hemera) at the Beijing motor show. Described by the firm as the “world’s first super-SUV”, the Artemis is powered by a Porsche Cayenne-sourced 4.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which has been tuned to produce 591bhp and 553lb ft of torque.

13) Fiat Viaggio

The four-door, five-seat Viaggio will be the first model to built in a new plant in China as part of a joint venture between GAC and Fiat. It goes on sale there in the third quarter.

14) Ford Ecosport

The Fiesta-based SUV is built in China at Ford’s Chongquin plant and will include the marque’s new turbocharged three-cylinder engine. In the Ecosport, it will produce 118bhp and 125lb ft of torque.

15) Geely McCar

Geely’s McCar is the second-generation of mini motorbike-carrying concept the Chinese manufacturer has shown following the first-gen concept seen at last year’s Shanghai show.

16) Geely EC8 saloon

Geely will add its larger, D-segment EC8 saloon to its line up in the UK later in 2013 if the launch of its two initial models is a success.

17) Honda Concept C/Honda Concept S

The Concept C - the C standing for “cool, challenge and China” - features angular styling inspired by a dragon. A production version is expected to be launched next year solely for the Chinese market. The Honda Concept S – which stands for “stylish, smart and surprise” - is powered by an unspecified hybrid powertrain.

18) JAC Heyue SC coupe

The JAC Heyue SC, one of the homegrown stars of Beijing, is China’s latest attempt at creating a credible sports car. It’s powered by a 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine with 162bhp and 160lb ft of torque, and mated to a manual gearbox.

19) Jaguar XJ Ultimate

The new Jaguar XJ Ultimate is the most luxurious – and expensive – version of Jaguar’s big saloon ever launched. Between the pair of fully adjustable rear seats sits a folding solid aluminium business table, a champagne chiller and storage for champagne flutes.

20) Lamborghini Urus SUV

The Urus concept is set to go into production in 2016 and is tipped to develop “around 600bhp”. Lamborghini claims it will be the fastest-accelerating production 4x4.

21) Mercedes CSC

Long billed as a junior CLS, the stunning CLA will sit below the Mercedes C-class saloon on price. However, this CSC show car hints that Mercedes’ new entry-level saloon will be longer, a considerable wider and lower than the C-class saloon.

22) Mercedes G63 AMG

Mercedes-Benz says the 2500kg-plus G63 AMG will do 0-62mph in 5.4sec, and has confirmed combined average fuel consumption of 20.5mpg. The range-topping, £250k G65 AMG will not be available in the UK.

23) MG Icon SUV concept

The compact SUV, codenamed AS21 is said to preview an upcoming production model to be introduced to the Chinese market in 2014.

24) Nissan 'e-concept' and D50 saloon

The Chinese joint venture between Nissan and Dongfeng has launched a new brand, called Venucia. Among the new cars, the D50 saloon goes into immediate production will be sold through 100 exclusive dealerships in China.

25) Nissan Sylphy New-G

Described as an-all new global saloon, the Sylphy will spearhead the firm's assault on emerging markets. It will be powered by a 1.8 petrol engine mated to a CVT transmission.

26) Renault Talisman

The Talisman, formerly known as the Safrane, will be built alongside the SM7 in South Korea. Two engines are offered: a 187bhp 2.5-litre V6 or a 254bhp 3.5-litre V6. Gearbox options include CVT or six-speed autos.

27) Rolls-Royce Ghost Six Senses

According to the firm, the bespoke luxury model “ignites the senses for sight, taste, touch, sound and aroma”, as well as the sense of “surprise and delight”.

28) Seat Ibiza Cupra

Seat’s concept version of its facelifted Seat Ibiza is powered by a 178bhp 1.4 TSI engine, which is mated to a seven-speed DSG gearbox. There’s a bold new exterior design, particularly at the front end.

29) Toyota: three new concepts

Toyota revealed three new concept cars at the show. The Yungdong Shuangqing is a sleek hybrid saloon concept that previews Toyota’s latest petrol-electric hybrid drivetrain due in 2015. Secondly, the Toyota Dear Qin concept previewed a new compact global car that will be launched next year. Toyota also confirmed plans to launch a plug-in hybrid in China by the end of 2012, and a full electric vehicle by 2013.

30) Victoria Beckham Evoque

Your most-read Beijing story was this £80k Victoria Beckham Evoque. Externally, its finished in matte black paintwork and gloss black paint for the detailing. The car’s 20-inch alloys are also in gloss black and feature rose gold accents.

31) VW E-Bugster Cabriolet

The latest E-Bugster retains the earlier concept’s bold look, but it swaps its speedster-style roof structure for a roofless profile that insiders suggest provides clues to the look of the new Beetle cabriolet.
