Geely will add its larger, D-segment EC8 saloon to its line up in the UK later in 2013 if the launch of its two initial models is a success.
The Chinese firm is currently re-engineering the EC7 and EC7 RV for UK sale, and will put them on sale in early 2013 from a mooted £10,000. The cars will be built in China before being sold through a dedicated UK network.
They EC7 and EC7 RV will be sold with the choice of 1.5 and 1.8 litre petrol engines. There is no diesel currently available in the Geely range.
The EC8 is Geely's answer to the large saloon, measuring slightly larger than a Ford Mondeo in every dimension. It slots in Geely's line-up below its full-size GE saloon (pictured) that made headlines for its resemblance to a Rolls-Royce.
"In the medium term we want a large, medium and small car, plus a small MPV and small SUV on sale in the UK," said a spokesman.
