Fiat has revealed prices of the new Fiat Panda, which goes on sale at the end of February. The cheapest model, the 1.2-litre petrol Fiat Panda Pop, will cost from £8900 while the range-topping 1.3-litre Multijet oil-burner in Lounge trim is priced from £12,250.

The new Panda will be available with a choice of three engines at launch: a 1.2-litre petrol with 69bhp, the 0.9-litre TwinAir with 85bhp and a 1.3 Multijet 2 turbodiesel, which produces 75bhp.

Pop-spec models get electric windows, central locking, body coloured bumpers and four airbags. ESP, roof rails and black pastel paint come as optional extras.

Easy trim variants add remote central locking, air conditioning, roof rails and an upgraded stereo system, which Lounge models get heated electric mirrors, front fog-lights, 15-inch alloy wheels and body coloured mirrors and door handles as standard. Side skirts are also on the list.

A new low-speed collision mitigation system is also available for the first time. The system automatically brakes the car up to speeds of up to 18.6mph, if an imminent collision is detected by lasers built into the car’s windscreen.

It got a 5 star review in Car this month. Had quick look in the supermarket and they were very impressed. I'd like a good look at one in the flesh. It's still a small car despite the size increase so no issues there for me.

That sounds like an awful lot of cash. That said, FIAT list the outgoing 1.2 ECO Active at £8155; fiatsupasaver will sell you one for just £5895. Roll on the discounting...

Doesn't seem to be anything on FIAT's website to help configure and cost a 1.2 with air con?
They've got virtually nothing about the new Panda on their website at the moment! Bizarre seeing as they've updated it to feature the new Punto which hasn't been launched with as much fanfare! Maybe in the next week we'll be able to configure an all-new Panda.
