Lotus will be the feature marque at next summer’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. The pioneering Hethel-based company is celebrating 60 years since its formation in 2012, and will be honoured with the main ‘centre feature’ installation that is displayed prominently outside Goodwood House.

The past and future of Lotus will be celebrated at the West Sussex event. The year marks a number of major anniversaries for the brand: it’ll be the 50th anniversary of the Lotus Elan and 35 years since the innovative Lotus 78 ground effect racing car competed in Formula 1.

Although the full line-up of Lotus machinery has yet to be confirmed, Goodwood officials have promised that examples of many of the company’s products will be on show, including F1 cars, Indycars, saloons, sports and road cars.

A wealth of current and ex-works Lotus racing drivers are also expected to appear. Next year’s Festival of Speed runs from 28 June to 1 July.
