Fiat's Panda range now features new Euro 5-compliant 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engines

Fiat has introduced new Euro 5-compliant engines to its Fiat Panda city-car range.

Fiat’s new 69bhp 1.2-litre petrol engine replaces the Panda’s previous entry-level 1.1-litre lump and is available on Active, My Life, and Dynamic variants.

The new engine gives the car a 0-60mph time of 13.4sec and a top speed of 101mph. On the combined cycle, the 1.2-litre Panda will return 57.6mpg and 113g/km Co2.

Fiat’s second Euro 5-compliant engine is the new 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel unit, fitted to Dynamic models. The 0-60mph sprint takes 13.1sec, with a top speed of 103mph achievable. And it returns 67.3mpg, with a CO2 figure of 109g/km.

Entry-level Active models get electric front windows and body-coloured bumpers as standard, with My Life models adding alloys and 12V power socket. Dynamic models top the range with roof bars, air conditioning, pearlescent paint, MP3 player and fog lights.

Fiat marketing director Elena Bernardelli said, “The addition of the Euro 5 engine to the line-up makes the Panda an even more tempting choice for drivers looking to save on fuel costs and keep CO2 figures as low as possible.”

Prices for the Fiat Panda 1.2-litre Active start from £8455, with the diesel variant priced from £12,285.
