It has teamed up with Russian firm Marussia Motors for the new 2011 season, which has resulted in an M being added to the car’s chassis designation and a revised red-and-black livery.

The MVR-02, like its predecessor, has been designed by Nick Wirth using only CFD technology without the use of a wind tunnel. It has a lower nose than most other cars revealed and will run for the first time in Jerez on Thursday.

Virgin came last in the constructors’ championship in 2011. It has retained Timo Glock as its lead driver and has promoted Jerome d'Ambrosio from its test driver in place of Lucas di Grassi.

The team ran at last week’s Valencia test with last year’s car modified for the new Pirelli tyres to allow it extra development time for the MVR-02.
