Citroen will give its electric sports car, the Survolt, its moving debut at the Le Mans Classic this weekend.
Vanina Ickx will drive the supermini-sized rear-drive concept, which first appeared at the Geneva motor show in March.

The Survolt features a tubular chassis and carbon bodywork; it uses two electric motors with a combined power output of 300bhp, which is available between 0-5000rpm. Powering the motors are two 31kw lithium-ion batteries that allow for a 124-mile range and can be recharged in two hours.
Citroen claims the Survolt is capable of getting from 0-62mph in less than 5.0sec and reaching a top speed of more than 160mph.
The firm has previously said it is looking at producing the Survolt in limited numbers for a one-make race series.

Autocar, you really are going to have to get to grips with the parameters and units associated with electric propulsion.
Power of any motor is the product of torque and revs: at zero rpm no power is developed. It may be the case that the SurVolt motor develops a constant torque between 0 and 5000 revs, and if so the power rises linearly from 0 bhp at 0 revs to (maybe) 300 bhp at 5000 revs
Also, battery capacity is measured in kWh, not kW.
Interesting car though, it would be great to do a comparison test with the Tesla.
