Firm records sharp sales increase in May to go with the positive start to 2010

Land Rover sales rose by 64 per cent year-on-year in the UK in May.

The firm has seen a strong increase in sales in the first five months of the year following the launch of revised Land Rover Discovery, Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models. for the 2010 model year.

Sales of the Range Rover saw the biggest increase, up 121 per cent on May 2009. Discovery sales were up 87 per cent, Range Rover Sport sales were up 58 per cent, Freelander sales rose 60 per cent and Defender sales were up 32 per cent.

Land Rover sold 15,181 units globally in May, an increase of 42.3 per cent on the previous year. The UK was its biggest market, where it sold 3040 units.

The next biggest market was the US, where it sold 2935 units, and China, where 2026 units were sold.

In the first five months of the year, Land Rover sales in the UK are up 60 per cent year-on-year.

because as we all know, people spending £50K on a large SUV really care whether their car is Euro IV or Euro V compliant.
