Alguersuari's pace backed up the times set by team-mate Sebastien Buemi earlier in the test. Buemi's best of 1:20.026 on day two was good enough for fourth overall.

This pair sandwiched Kamui Kobayashi, who continued Sauber's strong testing form by setting the third fastest time on day two.

Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher set the eighth fastest time of the test for Mercedes.

F1 newcomer Virgin Racing finally got in some serious running on the final day of the test, Lucas Di Grassi completing 63 laps, ending the final day just over three seconds off the fastest pace.
