Intense training regime hasn't exposed any neck weakness

Michael Schumacher is fit enough to return to F1, according to a report in the Times newspaper.

However, the paper also reports that Schumacher has yet to sign a contract with Mercedes Grand Prix and is still awaiting the final medical clearance on the neck injury that curtailed his planned comeback with Ferrari this season.

The report says that the intensity of Schumacher's current training regime is so high that any weakness in his neck would have been exposed already.

Meanwhile, Schumacher is also said to be negotiating the final details of his contract with Mercedes, as well as extracting himself with clashing contracts with conflicting backers.

Sources close to the German are reporting that the deal will be announced in early January.

It has nothing on the years of "Ronaldo to Real Madrid" soccer story, but it does really get on my nerves.
