Car rental firm Avis has launched a new Eco Collection, spearheaded by the arrival of 250 Volkswagen Golf 1.6 TDIs.
Any car Avis rents out under the scheme has to have CO2 emissions of less than 120g/km. It plans to add additional models as it tries to bring down its fleet average emissions of 149g/km.
As part of the launch of the scheme, Avis will offset the emissions for every Eco Collection car rented in December and January.
The firm plans to add more models to sit alongside the Golf in the new year.

Re: Car rental firm's eco scheme
I find the fact VW are selling so many cars to rental companies a little worrying, surely this is going to have some impact on the residuals? Hertz seem to have a huge number of basic 1.4/ 1.6 TDI Golfs and even a few Sciroccos.
Re: Car rental firm's eco scheme
Haven't Hertz been doing something like this for...years, now?
