Peugeot's Prologue concept is likely to be badged as 3008 when it goes on sale

Peugeot has released these pictures of its Prologue concept ahead of its debut at the Paris show next month. Clearly close to the production spec of its ‘crossover’ MPV, the Prologue is likely to be badged as the 3008 when it goes on sale.

The concept also uses a hybrid drivetrain – although Peugeot is staying coy about whether it has a petrol or diesel engine. It’s claimed to be capable of combining 200bhp performance with CO2 emissions of just 109g/km, and it can also operate in electric-only mode.

PSA has already confirmed that it is developing a hybrid powertrain, which will be able to work with both petrol and diesel engines, and which is scheduled to reach the market in 2010.

Re: Peugeot unveils Prologue concept

Great - a Peugeot MPV at last! I've loved the 307SW & 308SW, but maybe this will offer a bit more flexibility. Not completely 100% sure on the looks, but at least it's a new variation on the Peugeot nose. I really like the back - and it looks flexible. I just hope Peugeot make it as economical and green as possible, like this pre-production concept.

That's the best looking version of the Peugeot nose so far, although the rest of it looks a bit too close to the Ford C-Max.

I've seen more successful crossdressers than this crossover.

Gives a whole new meaning to the expression, "Pug ugly!"
