Patent drawings for Suzuki saloon appear early

Outline drawings of the forthcoming Suzuki Kizashi saloon have leaked onto the internet. Intended for the European patent office, the images show how the new Mondeo rival will keep some of the concept’s looks; in particular, the front end features the same striking design, with sharp lines shaping the bonnet and leading down to frame a V-shaped grille.

Prices should start around £17,000 when the Kizashi arrives in spring 2010. As the series of three Kizashi concepts suggest, there will be a number of varieties of the new D-segment car.Engines should range from standard four-cylinder models to a range-topping four-wheel-drive V6 variant. There’s no denying that these images make the new Suzuki Kizashi look more conservative than first expected; the final production version should break cover towards the end of 2009.

Compared with those really quite exciting concepts Suzuki have been teasing us all with, this really looks rather boring. Shame.

Hmm. VW front, Rover 75 sides and a hotchpotch of a rear - very original. Yawn.

Wow, what a scoop! This must be internet leak of the year!

A few pencil sketches of a dull-as-ditchwater car absolutely no-one cares about.
