Korean car maker cuts Getz prices by 20 per cent

Hyundai has cut the price of its Getz supermini by more than 20 per cent, dropping the starting price to just £5995, less than its smaller sibling, the £6745 Hyundai i10 city car.The Getz is due to be replaced next year, so Hyundai is eager to sell the last of the current examples before the new model is revealed. In real terms the reduction adds up to £1287 off the entry-level 1.1GSI three-door Getz, which comes with air conditioning as standard. And at least the Getz is in stock; the i10 currently has a three-month waiting list. We’ll see the Hyundai i20 – the Getz’s successor – at the Paris motor show this October before it goes on sale in January 2009.
