We drive next year's Vauxhall Vectra and Colin Goodwin talks to the 207 GTi's developer

There's plenty of new metal on Autocar's community site this week. MyAutocar has got an exclusive first drive in the Opel GTC – the father of next year's Vauxhall Vectra. It might still be a concept, but plenty of styling cues and most of the mechanics will be carried over from the GTC. The new car – possibly to be called Insignia – seems to set a whole new standard for Vauxhall. So has the new Ford Mondeo met its match? Or is Bond's rental special still the best bet for your executive transport? Click here to join the debate and read the story. The new Peugeot 207 GTi is under question, too. Colin Goodwin met up with the man responsible for the development of the French manufacturer’s latest hot hatch. He’s adamant that Peugeot will once again set the benchmark for performance hatches. We're not so sure, though, and neither are plenty of MyAutocar users. We can't blame Peugeot for not producing something with the character of a 205, but Renault seems to be managing, so why can't Peugeot? Have your say here. The BMW 3-series Coupe-Cabriolet is also under scrutiny. Which would you buy – the coupe or the folding hard-top? It's difficult to make a heavier convertible perform as well a lighter tin-top, but if anyone can do it, BMW can. Read what our Steve Cropley reckons, and then have your say here.
