The Renault Espace, long the most upmarket choice in the large MPV sector, just got cheaper. The French manufacturer has just introduced a new entry-level Espace model to the 2007 range, which brings the most affordable new Espace on the market down to a price of just £18,595. That's cheaper than any Chrysler Voyager or Ford Galaxy, the Espace's traditional rivals. Renault's new cheaper MPV is called the Espace Team. It's fitted with a 2.0-litre, 140bhp engine. It comes with air conditioning and a CD player, and it costs £450 less than the previous entry-level model.Aimed at owners seeking even more space, the larger Grand Espace has received the same treatment. It is now available for £21,758 – saving a sizeable £2437 over the former model, despite the car being fitted with the same 2.0-litre turbocharged engine.
