RSR team will take its XKR to Laguna Seca this weekend

RSR will race its new Jaguar XKR GT2 car at the season finale of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) at Laguna Seca.

The car made its racing debut at Petit Le Mans last month and the team tested it again last week without incident at the GingerMan Raceway in Michigan.

RSR Technical Director John Gentilozzi said: “The first track test for the Jaguar XKR GT2 was very successful. We were able to make some changes to the balance and setup characteristics of the car. Our experience on track generated good information.

"We feel that it was a very constructive venture and one that will make us more confident going into our first race at Laguna.”

The team is preparing for a full season in the ALMS next year against the likes of Ferrari, Porsche, BMW, Corvette, Panoz, Dodge and Ford. It will compete at the season opening Sebring 12 Hours in March.

The Laguna Seca ALMS race takes place this weekend.

Re: Jaguar XKR GT2 to race again

I think this is a great looking car and I hope it does well against the Corvettes and F430s.

Anyone know if it will be racing in Europe too?
