Tuner unveils the Brabus SV12 R

German tuner Brabus has created this 740bhp Mercedes-Benz S600, called the Brabus SV12 R, for the Frankfurt motor show.

Powered by a modified version of Mercedes's 5.5-litre V12 engine with bigger turbos and an enlarged displacement of 6.3-liters, it produced 740bhp at 5500 rpm and an electronically limited peak torque of 811 lb-ft. The engine is linked to a strengthened five-speed automatic gearbox, while buyers can opt for a locking differential.

Acceleration from 0-62mph takes 4.0secs, and 0-124 mph 11.9secs. Top speed is limited to 211 mph.

Other modifications over the standard, facelifted S600 are 21-inch alloys, a high-performance brake system and harder suspension settings.

Cosmetic changes include a new front bumper with integrated LED lights, side skirts, a boot lid spoiler, a new rear diffuser where the quad tailpipes sit and side air vents.

Inside, there's a bespoke Brabus trim using wood and leather.

Brabus love to take a perfectly good car, then make it pointlessly faster...
