DTM team Abt tunes Audi R8 V10

The Audi R8 V10 has been tuned by ABT Sportline.

The tuning pack pushes power up 14 per cent to 592bhp, shaving 0.1 seconds off the 0-62mph dash (now 3.8sec) and adding 3mph to the maximum speed, meaning the Abt R8 V10 tops out at 200mph.

Body modifications are also available, including various carbonfibre appendages. Designed by ABT Sportline’s DTM racing team, the pack includes a new front spoiler with full mesh grille, and swaps the original R8’s horizontal slats for angled vertical ones.

The R8’s side scoops are blackened, there are new side skirts, and a rear wing sits high above a ducted apron and revised quad exhaust pipes. 20-inch five-spoke alloys are also available.

The Abt R8 V10 pack will be available in the UK through Autobrokers, and will cost just over £35,000 for the power upgrade and styling kit.

It may not have a posh badge, but when it comes to what really matters the R8 has what it takes to hold its head high among supercar rivals

Ho hum, AUDI's at it again!

I was never awe struck by the R10, just another vehicle for the Lambo V10,i suppose it's all in your interpretation of a supercar but this thing just to damn clinical, it gets the job done but it's boring to watch, same engine in a Gallardo, every movement is full of energy, excitement, and lets face it if BMW's claims are to beleived large capacity engine haven't got long to go, besides the car that turns heads just now is the Aston Martin Vantage, any opinions?

You'd have thought with all that extra power that gearing would've been modified such that for the lucky few who can afford one to blast down the autobahn, 210mph+ would be possible.

I'd feel quite silly siting there being passed by a bloke in a BMW M6 topping out at 205mph knowing that for the same amount of cash he probably has an XFR in the garage as well!
