American firm launches its own version of the 997

American-based tuner Switzer Performance has launched its 789bhp version of the Porsche 911 Turbo.

Switzer has boosted the power output of the 911 Turbo by fitting new intercoolers, remapping the ECU and adding a competition-style exhaust. Before Switzer’s upgrades, the 911 Turbo produced 473bhp.

Switzer has also significantly improved the acceleration of the car and claim it can reach 0-60mph in “under three seconds”. This figure has been helped by the addition of an upgraded carbon clutch package and an electronic boost control.

The Switzer package for the Porsche 911 Turbo is available now, although no prices have been given.
