Owners can apply for 12 months' free roadside recovery

Ferrari has launched a free With You roadside assistance service for all of its cars not covered by a four-year factory warranty.

The free 12-month scheme, which is open to all Ferraris produced since 1947, offers to recover your car at no cost if it breaks down, and then take it to a Ferrari repair centre or to your home. Hotel expenses are also covered.

Ferrari introduced its four-year warranty for UK customers buying a new car in January 2007, and this also includes roadside recovery. Only customers with an expired factory warranty are eligible to take part in the scheme.

A Ferrari spokesman said the scheme was initially being run for 12 months and its success will be evaluated at the end of this period.

“It offers an extra bit of security to Ferrari customers,” said the spokesman. “Older Ferraris tend to be well looked after by their owners but we’re positive there will be a good reaction to this scheme.

“We could continue it after the 12 months, depending on what the take-up has been, what it has cost and what the customer experience has been like. We may keep it as a free scheme or introduce a charge; we will see how it goes.”

The scheme has just been launched in Italy and it will be rolled out other European countries, starting with the UK, in the coming weeks. UK Ferrari customers wanting to apply should contact customerservice@owners.ferrari.com.
