Speacial edition to cost from £16,695

Seat’s concept car-inspired Bocanegra will cost £700 more than the Ibiza Cupra it is based on.

The Bocanegra has gone on sale priced £16,695 and gets the same 177bhp 1.4-litre TSI engine as the Cupra, with both cars hitting 62mph in 7.2 seconds andhaving a top speed of 140mph.

The only real change from the Cupra is more aggressive styling, which draws inspiration from the 1200 Sport Bocanegra model of the 1970s. The front of the car is predominantly black with dark headlights.

There are also black inserts in the lower middle portion of the Bocanegra’s rear, surrounding a centrally-mounted, trapezoidal exhaust.

The new Ibiza FR’s 148bhp version of the same 1.4 gives it a 0-60mph time of 7.7 seconds and a top speed of 130mph.

The Cupra costs £15,995, while the FR will be £14,995. Deliveries for all three models start in October.
